Steve :: Blog :: Toys for the Boys!

March 08, 2008

Toys for the Boys!Just picked this new toy up on eBay.  Not a big enough engine to kill us, but enough for the endorphins to kick-in.  Unlike a jet ski we'll still be able to carry kit to and from the yacht.  Better than the inflatable dinghy, we'll be able have a bit of extra fun when we moor up.

I can't wait!  I'll have to go to Devon next weekend to pick her up.

  2. Yes indeeeeeedie.  Although Kate says "you better not be thinking about leaving that on the drive!" ... what a spoilsport! Cry

  5. You could be three men in a boat if you threw one of you out.  Amazing what one can buy on ebay these days!

Should you wait until the storms have abated?  Wouldn't want you being blown off course by land or sea before you've had a chance to launch her.

  6. I left for Pyworthy in Devon (near Bude actually) this morning at 9:30.  I stopped for a while in Okehampton to check out a few old quaint shops and stuff.  My primary mission to buy a "light board" extension cable (£11.99).  The Light Board is the thing you hang over the back of what you are towing with lights, indicators, and so on plus your number plate.  It was about the only time all day when it was not persistently piddling.  Then off to the destination for collection.

It's a lovely part of the country and I would loved to have stayed longer.  But, not this time.  We hooked up and I set off for the return journey.  472 miles round trip.  Arrived back home at 7:30pm.

Our "Newbourne" baby is neatly tucked on the driveway now.

No doubt I'll be out with all the bathroom cleaners tomorrow.  To be clear, those aren't ladies that come round to clean bathrooms; rather the Cif/Jif (whatever they call it nowadays) and hob polish.  Don't tell Kate I knicked them though ... shhhhh.

  7. Nice to know you're so domesticated.

When's Kate going to join in with the family blog?

  8. Have you started the outboard yet Steve? Is there the normal emergency oars and rollocks? Or will Lochy have to get out and push?
